I’ve been quietly working on something…
Oct 06, 2026
If you’ve known me for a while, you already know that sometimes I take breaks from publishing blog posts and videos. And these are very often breaks to spend time reflecting on what’s coming next, taking into consideration what you’ve been asking for and what I’d like to do as well.
I also use this time to look for inspiration, often in completely different areas from wet felting. In fact, I’m spending lots of time looking at art right now, especially paintings and mixed media.
I often suggest that my students do the same. I find this helps you expand your horizons and think out of the box. This can help you produce work that is very different from what’s happening in the wet felting scene, which I think you probably want too.
If that’s the case, I’d also like to suggest you have a look at two blog posts I wrote some time ago on this exact topic. One is called “My 3 tips on how to create your own wet felting style” and the other “Anxious to find your own wet felting style? This may help”. Just click on the titles to access the posts.
As I was saying, this way of approaching your felted art, will probably contribute to creating work that is different from what’s out there. And this is also how I approached the piece I’ve been working on for the past couple of months.
It’s titled “Quo Vadis, Lisboa?” and it’s completely wet felted. It was inspired by a photograph I took in Lisbon in 2015 at the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, which used to be one of my very favorite spots in the city.

Maybe you can see how looking at art has influenced the creation of this piece. So, again, I highly recommend this approach.
What I’ve also been doing in these last couple of weeks is considering which classes to keep, which to close down, and which should have a new format.
You see, I’d like to create more community and do more group coaching. And I think you’d prefer that to DIY classes too.
First of all, I wanted to ask you if that’s really how you see it. So, please feel free to send me an email telling me what you’re looking for: more community, group coaching and live sessions in the classes or just the DIY version.
And very soon I’ll be sharing everything that’s planned for the upcoming 12 months. So, keep your eye on your inbox.
