Choosing the fulling methods for your project – Part 2
Sep 24, 2025Last week we started looking at how the felting and fulling methods you choose for your wet felted project affect the outcomes and the quality of your felt.
We made a sample with a fine merino layout and viscose on the surface, that we felted using gentle methods.
This week, we’re trying much more aggressive fulling methods on the same type of sample (the same amount of fiber and the same type of layout). Only the color is different, so that the two samples don’t get mixed up.
The idea is to compare the results you get on the two samples. This way, instead of thinking “oh, well, it doesn’t really matter which fulling methods I use”, you get to see the outcomes and decide for yourself.
If you haven’t watched last week’s video, I invite you to do that first, so that what we do today makes sense for you. I also invite you not only to watch the videos, but to try felting some samples as well.
